We are excited about our third annual GEEK QUIZ NIGHT, to be held on Saturday, 1 April 2017, at the Best Western Hotel in Bathurst Street, Hobart.
The structure will be similar to past quiz nights, with topics to include board games, comics and cartoons, cities, science, television, weapons, money and more. Our prize list is growing, with heaps of great stuff to win.
There will be live rounds, as well as table rounds that you can work on throughout the night. The rounds will be split into three sections with breaks in between. We plan to finish up by around 11 pm — but no promises!
This year we are introducing priority booking for financial HoGS members. Last year the quiz booked out in 48 hours, so the extra days could be vital to ensure your place in the 3rd annual Geek Quiz Night! For booking details read on..

Age restriction: So it turns out geeks come in the small size, too. We don’t want them to miss out on the fun! You’ll be pleased to hear that this year our policy has changed along with the venue change! We are allowing up to two under 18 year olds per team, with no minimum age limit. Any more would be too much of an advantage! Please note though that we recommend 12 and up due to the difficulty of the questions (and some possible violence themes) and the hosts will not be asked to kidify their language so there might be some mature words thrown in occasionally! If your kids can handle that, they are more than welcome.

Further booking info: To book, simply email Georgie at firstname.lastname@example.org with your full name and phone number. Bookings before 7pm will not be accepted so keep an eye on the clock and wait til it ticks over to 7:00pm! Do not send your payment through until Georgie has confirmed you have a spot – we don’t want to have to deal with any refunds. Once your payment has come through, Georgie will contact you to find out your table preference. Tables will be allocated based on booking order so it is first in best dressed! Your team name and the names of your other members will also be needed before the quiz so if you know those please include them in the email too to save us chasing you up.
Priority booking conditions: Please note that the person booking for your team (who also must be on the team) must be a financial HoGS member at the time of booking to be eligible for priority booking. Becoming a HoGS member only costs $36/$54 for the year and grants you free entry to all of our regular events which are hosted nearly every weekend of the year around Hobart. Table allocation: Tables will be allocated on a first in best dressed basis in order of booking. However, you will not be allocated a table until your payment comes through on the HoGS account. Georgie will contact you when we receive your payment and let you know what table numbers remain so you can choose. Your table number will also be your team number. For the table arrangement photo see the event discussion. In general, the smaller numbers are closest to the bar, exit and restaurant and the larger numbers are closest to the screen.
